A small room can look bigger with its color effect.it is always advisable to utilize light colors like pearl white, sky blue, soft green or pastel colors  which can make your room look bigger and brighter with the effect of natural as well as  artificial lighting arrangements. Like the four walls of any room the floor and ceiling equally play a larger role in enhancing the room size.

It is always better to color the roof of the room white to give a higher look and the floor has to be again not very dark. Wooden flooring gives a larger look to the room and also any light shaded carpet on the floor can make the floor look bigger and better. Apart from the lighter shades the use of darker shade if used creatively can also make the room bigger.

According to some designers if one wall of the room can be colored with darker shade and rest with lighter shade then it will equally make the room look bigger by receding the darker side and enhancing the overall size of the room.

Like a room you can equally give a bigger look to your entire house by using different  lighter shades of the same color to different rooms of your house.

The effect of lighting on the overall paint of your room can equally be helpful in enhancing  the space of the room. Recessed spot lighting arrangements on the ceiling of the room, torchiere lighting or natural tube lights are very much helpful in giving a bigger effect to the size of the room. Apart from selecting right color and matching it with right kind of lighting, it is equally important to match the size and color of your furniture and other decorative items inside the room.

For example placing darker color long flower vase or two to three vases in ascending order filled with long flower strands in the corner of the room will give a bigger look to the roof of the room.instead of heavy furniture, two seaters wooden sofa or two chairs with a small tea table can save the space of the room and make the room look bigger. Another very wise visual illusion many interior designers do by using mirrors on the wall.

One can  make the size of the room look just the double by utilizing mirrors in one wall of the room. This will also create a great reflection of color and light and make the room look  bigger in size.
