Always before starting such a big job lookout for any damage and repair them well before the start of the job as it will prevent further damage plus will also add life to the house and also make your work look perfect.

Priming

Before starting the work of painting if any area or part of the house needs priming do that so that the paint gets evenly coated and spread everywhere. Priming also ensures that the work is water proof.

Choosing a paint

After priming you may start the paint job. But if you want to skip the priming step you may also use synthetic water proof paint, nowadays many weather proof paints or weather coats are available in the market which lets you skip the priming step plus at the same time adds up life and weather proofing of your external walls.

For painting you may use brush or a roller, here spraying is not much recommended as it will make the work more tedious and tricky at times. So you may use varying range of brush and roller to easily do the painting job.

Tips to paint

While painting the exteriors start painting from the top as if you start from the bottom and as the work will progress you may damage your work yourself while mounting ladders or platforms near to the walls. While starting from the top you need an elevated surface to do so, for that you may use a ladder or scaffolds or raised platforms.

Using a platform may be good as you can carry all your painting tools and stuff with you and can do the job easily. While painting do one part at a time as it will ensure uniformity and help to complete the job quickly and easily.
