You may minimize these short comings by using special kinds of brushes but why to stay on one option.
Different Choices but Spraying a Better One
When you start painting cabinets there are lot choices but if you paint your cabinets with sprayer instead of brush it would not only give better look but you will avoid brush strokes also. Although paint sprayers prove expensive but the decent look covers up the monetary calculations.
Making Preparations:
First of all you have to unscrew the shelves and all attachments of the cabinets, this would correspond to its design. While unscrewing different parts, it is strongly recommended to place the respective parts close to each other and better use some numbering system for hassle free re-assembling.
Start Sanding:
Now remove all stains by a suitable sander which is easily available in the markets. If you opt to do sanding manually, use fine sand papers to remove the old unstuck paint completely. The entire cabinet including doors, drawers and panels should be gently sanded for making them smooth. Remove the dust and residue properly using dry rag or a vacuum cleaner.
Proper Space:
You need a proper and enough space to start the spraying job. Better chose that area which is well ventilated and spacious to smoothly carry on all the process more conveniently. The selection of a proper space is also suggested so as to ease out the drying process of the painted parts of the cabinet.
Start Priming:
Now the main activity begins, check the paint after spraying on card board or some unwanted sheet. If found ok then start painting the cabinet doors, its inside surfaces be painted first so that any kind of wrong activity can be arrested on its inconspicuous parts and outer surfaces may better be sprayed with more confidence. The door edges need a narrow spray for improved performance. When you gather a momentum you paint swiftly. Priming may take more time if you have decided to apply only one coat and cover all the surfaces quite well. Complete the priming of all the parts of cabinet and then let them dry up for almost 24 hours. Avoid the nail scratches during the drying process. You should properly mask off the surrounding ceiling as well floor and those areas which you do not need to paint. Please do not forget to cover with the tapes the inside wall of the cabinet if it is not going to be painted, Proper masking wherever necessary, is of pivotal importance.
Start Painting:
Before painting, light sanding and dusting with dry rag is recommended. The entire cabinet should be painted twice or thrice for superb results. Moreover a period of 24 hours is sufficient between two successive coats. To minimize the gravity impact use very fine spray so as to avoid dripping.
Assembling the cabinet:
When the drying process is fully completed rejoin all the parts and enjoy a nice look.
